MAN BEFORE THE FALL

Gen. 1: 26a

(a) In the beginning God created man to be in God’s class

(b) Man has the life of God in him

(c) He was created in the image and likeness of God, I Thes 5: 23 THE LIKE OF MAN

Trine: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Likewise man has Spirit, soul and body.

Gen. 1: 26 Dominionship: Dominion over the sea, air and land it was lost in Adam but restored back in Jesus Christ.

Likeness: Exact duplication in kind. Gen. 1: 11, 12. "….. After his kind". The kind of God is ‘good’, perfect’’ man to be good and perfect.

Gen. 2: 7 God created his life (his own breathe) unto man. Man is not inferior if God can breathe the breath of life.

Man can have fellowship with God. Gen. 3:8.

Law of life. Man is subjected to a law of life. The kind of God is life.

Man was created as the master of the earth. That man is created to control earth. Ps 115: 16 God is God of heaven and Adam god of the earth. Ps 8: 3 - 6. ‘You have made him and crowned with Glory and honour, and put all things under his feet’.

Man was created highly spiritual. He lived in the consciousness of spiritual nature than physical nature. Gen. 2: 25. The spirituality is because of the life of God in man Jn 5: 26. The father hath life, Jesus hath life; so man also hath life for ‘ we are like him’. The life of God gave Adam supernatural intelligence. That is why Adam named the animals. Life of God in you affects your mental intelligent, soul and body.

The life of God in man produces

(a) Peace

(b) Confidence

(c) Boldness

(d) Wisdom

(e) Mental alertness and dignity

(f) Dominion.

Gen. 3: 9, 10

Man disobeyed God instructions and faced consequences.

Luke 4: 5 "… is delivered unto us". There was a transfer of dominion.

2 cor 4: 4 "… the god of this world" when Adam transferred the legal right to Satan, then Satan became ‘’god’’.

The fall of man released the second law (another law) Rm. 8:2 the second law is the law of sin and death.

The fall of man resulted in changes in the status of man, the nature of man.

It was beginning of struggle, pain and sweat.

Man has come into the bondage of a new master. Rm. 8:20,21 subject to bondage.

The nature of man changed by reason of corruption Rm.8:21

Man lost fellowship and legal standing with God. Eph 2:12 separation / alienated from God. Spiritual death.

The law of sin and death was in operation. Spiritual and physical death. Man becomes mortal Rm. 5:12-14. ‘‘Death reign’’ Rm. 6:23.

Man took the new nature. The nature of the devil.

(a) He became sin and a sinner

(b) He became rebellious and hater of God. Eph 2:2,3

(c) Man became a creature of fear, anxiety and unbelief Rm. 11:30

(d) Man became blind to original position and origin. He became ignorant. Jn 12: 40.. He hath blindeth their eyes and hardened their heart’’

(e) Man became a servant to devil and a slave to sin

(f) Man lost his rest, peace and joy

(g) Man became carnal.. He fell from his level of spirit conscious to physical conscious.

(h) Demotion. He made him subject to his senses he was deduced to touch, taste, smell, seeing and hearing. Rm. 8: 6 ‘’for to be carnally minded is death I cor 2:14 ‘’but the natural man receiveth not the minds of the spirit of God…’’ Rm. 5: 6.

Chapter 3

SALVATION

Ps 107: 20 " he sent his Word"

Jn 1:14 "and the Word was made flesh"

V 17 ".. But grace and truth came by Jesus Christ".

Mt 1:21 "…. Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins". Jesus is the saviour.

Jn 14 : 6 " I am the life"

1 Jn 5 : 11, 12 "….. that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son…."

Rm 10: 9, 10 - Believe with your heart

confession is made by your mouth unto righteousness

2 Cor 5 : 17 "… Old things are passed away, behold all things are become NEW".

This is a change of mind about God. There are five elements of repentance.

1 CONVICTION OF SIN: This is a sense of guilt because of sin. Conviction comes from the Spirit of God activating our consciences by the Word of God.

2 GODLY SORROW: A person needs to be deeply sorry for his sin. Worldly sorrow may cause a person to weep and moan because he is caught, but godly sorrow comes from knowing he has grieved God by his wrong.

3 CONFESSION: Whenever a person is truly sorry for his sin, he will then also be willing to confess past wrongs. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" 1John 1:9

4 RESTITUTION: Salvation came to Zacchaeus’ house when his penitence by making restitution. He said he would restore fourfold anything which he had taken from anyone by false accusation. Luke 19:8. Restitution is a righting of past wrongs. It is a part of repentance.

5 DORSAKING SIN: Some people confess they have sinned but then keep on sinning. But David and the prodigal son are good examples for us. They confessed their sins, and then forsook them. We need to quit the sinning business. Rom 6:1,2

2 Cor 5: 21 he became righteousness of God for reason of new nature. Righteousness means ‘right standing’. We are no more alienated.

We bear new image. 1 cor 15: 45 - 49. God quickening our spirit. We are God’s indwell. God in us. Superior intelligence, integrity.

Eph 2: 10 man is re - created in Christ Jesus. Good works are the order of the day.

Freedom from the bondage of Satan. Col 1: 13 ‘delivered’ and ‘translated’. In this kingdom, sickness, barrenness, failure etc are strange and foreign goods. You denounce then.

A change nature 2 Cor 5: 17. A new creature. The law of life is operating. Faith belongs to the law of life. It is faith that makes the spirit to be confident. Faith attracts ‘divine benefits’. Faith causes your mind to be at rest. The law of life will fight against the law of sin and death ( disease, sickness, failure etc)

Freedom from the bondage of sin and consequences. Rom 6: 6, 18 when the law of life is in operation, the law of sin and death is suspended. Rom 8: 2.

All that was lost were restored.

Accepts and adopts us - Ephe 1:5,6. Here are the first two things that God does when we comes to Him. He adopts us into His family and makes us ‘accepted in the beloved’. We become children of God by adoption. By nature we are the children of the devil; but when we turn from the devil to God, then we turn

a) From darkness to light. 1 Peter 2:9

b) From fleshy works to the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:5

c) from evil company to the household of God (Christianity) Ephe 2:19

d) From reaping with Satan to being heirs with Christ. Rom 8:13,17

Brings us close to Himself - Ephe 2:12,13. The blood of Jesus brings us close to God. Sin separated us from God; but by faith in the blood of Jesus, we can now come to God. God forgives our sins - removes them far from us. We then are pure and white before Him. Isa 1:18 and Hebr 10:17

Frees us from condemnation. The Bible says in John 3:18 that there is no condemnation to a person who believes. A person living in sin feels guilty whenever he remembers his sins. He has the wrath of God abiding on him. John 3:36. a sinner is not happy and enjoys no true peace. But when he becomes a Christian, his sins are gone and there is no condemnation - no guilt conscience anymore.

Justifies us - Rom 5:1. To be justified means ‘to be just as if I had never sinned’ Hebr 10:17. we are now sons of God and saints of God. Being justified brings us the peace of God which keeps our hearts and minds. Phil 4:7

Taking the place of another Gen 22: 2 - 14.

(a) You sinned and needed to die Rom 6: 23 but Rom 5: 8 Jesus died instead.

(b) You need supposed to go to hell but Jesus went to hell. Acts 2: 27, 31.

(c) He shed his blood for you. Heb 9: 12

Gen 3: 21 the Adamic time God shed an animal blood. Use its skin to clothe Adam and Eve.

Abraham time Gen 22 : 13 A lamb for a person

Mosaic Time Ex 12: 13, 3 A lamb for a family.

The Leviticus Time Lev 16: 15, 16. For a lamb for the nation. Heb 9: 7 for the whole nation of Israel.

The Messianic Time. Jn 3: 16, 17. One lamb for the whole world. Jn 1: 27.

Blood is shed for sin. Blood is the antidote of sin.

From dispensation to dispensation before Messianic time, these sacrifices have a lasting result. They are not sufficient for man Heb 10: 1. ‘Can never’, not sufficient’’. Vs 2-4 for it are not possible that the blood of bulls… should take away sins. The problem is the sin nature. V 10; offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

To deal with sin nature, Jesus the spoilers lamb was slain and shed his blood. Heb 10: 12 ‘’sacrifice for ever’’ Heb 10: 14 ‘’one offering he hath perfected for ever’’.

You are redeemed by his blood

You are redeemed unto God.

Redemption is for everybody

To redeem means ‘to buy back, to set free. To release on receipt of ransoms. A price is paid. Man was first made in the image of God. That is how God made him. But then man fell into sin and became a slave to the devil. That is how sin made him. God could not see man go on without hope because He loved man. So God set out to remake man - to restore man to His image. It took blood to redeem man. It was no ‘bargain day’ at Calvary. Redemption cost God His Son. All who believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as Saviour and Lord are redeemed - set free from:

We have been redeemed from Devil slavery. Rom 6: 16; Hebr 2:14,15

Sin. Rom 6:18

The bondage and curse of the law. Gal 3:13

We have been redeemed from slave market of sin Acts 20: 28

We have been redeemed from the world system Gal 3: 13

God purchased us for himself. No longer to serve sickness, poverty, Satan

Death. Hosea 13:14; 1 Cor 15:26

Destruction. Psa 103:4

He delivered himself for us Rom 4 : 25

He died for us. 1Cor 15 : 3

He was made sin for us. 2Cor 2: 21

He gave himself us. Titus 2: 14

We are new creature. 2Cor 5: 17

He lives in us. Because he lives, we live too. Jn 14: 19

We are no more under condemnation. 2Cor 3 : 5-11. Eph 1: 19-21; 2:1, 6.

You seated in heavenly places

Free from sin and Satan to serve the living God Rom 6: 11-13.

RECONCILIATION: Col 1:21.

What sin caused is eternal death and we are not reconciled to God.

The new birth brings about reconciliation with God. Rom 5:10

The lost fellowship in Gen 3 is restored Rom 8: 15

God initiated the reconciliation. He remembered our sin no more Heb 10:17

You accepted into the family of God in his beloveth one Rom 8:17.

Rom 7:4-6 we have now being part of Him and bring forth fruits unto God. Sickness, frustration, failure are not fruits after this order.

Righteousness means ‘right standing’ with God. In the sight of God - you are like Jesus.

Righteousness makes us free from guilt and condemnation

Righteousness makes us free from fear

Righteousness makes us free from inferiority

1 Guilt and Condemnation: - Rev 12:9,10

Rom 8:1 "There is therefore now n o condemnation to them…". When you are in conflict you need confidence and trust in the word of God. God cannot condemn, it is the work of the devil.

2 Fear: - Psa 27:1, 3 The purpose of fear is to defeat. If you are fearful, you have lost the battle. The opposite of fear is faith. Giving to fear, you have given to opposition.

2 Tim1:7 Fear is from Satan and to bring defeat. You use the Word of God to cure fear.

Inferiority Complex: - 2peter1:4 - we are partakers of his divine nature - dominion.

Righteousness is armour. You use it in the conflict of life. Eph 6:14 "…The breastplate of righteousness"

Righteousness is a gift Rom 5:17. It is built on you. Is 64:6. It is not what you did but it is a gift.

Righteousness is received ; 2 Cor 5:21. When you received him as Lord, then you received righteousness along with him.

Righteousness is received by faith. Rom 10:10

Righteousness is for all them that believed Rom 3:21-24

Effective prayer is as a result of righteousness. James 5:16, Heb. 4:16.

JUSTIFICATION

This is a change of standing before God. Rom 5:9 "being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him" Justification before God means "a change of standing with God". A sinner stands before God, guilty; a Christian stands before God, just as if he had never sinned, justified. A person is justified by:

1 The grace of God. Rom 3:24; Ephe 2:8,9

2 Faith. Rom 3:28

3 Works. James 2:24

4 The blood of Christ. Rom 5:9

5 God. Rom 8:33

Acts 13:39. Justification is standing before God as though never sinned.

Rm. 5:1 :- peace with God

Rm. 5:2 - makes grace available

You are not under condemnation Rom 8:1

No one can lay a charge against you Rm. 8: 32-33

We are glorified Rm. 8:30

You don’t need to have sin consciousness Rom. 5:9. Save from wrath’s of God.

Is 43:25 God doesn’t remember your sin anymore.

Justification came by the one act of obedience Rom. 5:16, 18. Obedience of Jesus Christ.

The word sanctification in the Scripture has a twofold meaning:

1 Cleansing. Hebrew 10:10,14; 2 Timothy 2:21

2 Setting apart or consecration. 1 Thess 4:3, John 17:17

God will not set anyone apart for service unless he is first cleansed. God uses men and women to fulfill His purpose, but those persons must first be cleansed and made holy.

Sanctification takes place at the time a person is born again. When we open our hearts to receive Christ as our Saviour, the Spirit of God moves in to cleanse us and empower us for service. From that time on we should grow in our Christian lives.

Sanctification is a work of God in our lives dependent upon:

1 Our faith in Him. Hebrew 11:6

2 Our knowledge of the Scriptures. John 15:3

3 Our readiness to obey the Word. Acts 5:32

4 Our consistency in separation from the world. Rom 12:2; 2 Cor 6:14 - 18; 7:1

IDENTIFICATION

You have baptised into Christ. Christ identifies with you. Gal 3:27. The baptism also means Identification. Baptism is total immersion of one into another and to be baptised in Christ means to be swallow completely in Him. Gal 2:20 "I am crucified (swallow up) in christ …". Identification helps us to uncover our roots. Our origin is in Him and we are united, connected in Him. When Christ died we died, when he rose up, we rose up etc. Rom 6:3-5, thereby we are buried with him by baptism into death…’’. Vs6 old man was crucified, that the body of sin might be destroyed vs 7 he that is dead is freed from sin.

Spiritual truth demonstrating our complete identification with Christ in his death and his resurrection. It is not a church ritual but a spiritual truth for liberation.

Water baptism is for all born again believer. Acts 2:38

Water baptism is a must. Jesus himself show example. Matt 3:13-15.

Jesus commanded it. Mt 28:19

Water baptism is by complete and total immersion in water and not sprinkling.

Mt 3:16.

Water baptism is not for baby. Acts 8: 30 -39. It is understanding that makes you enjoy the benefits of identification. Philip told him about salvation, when he understood, he urged for baptism. Water baptism is a prerequisite for identification.

Lk 3:21-23. He must be of a age of accountability.

BENEFITS OF WATER BAPTISM (Lk 3:21)

Revelation or open heaven

You profit from the scripture.

Faith is built.

Matt 3:16.17. Spiritual ears are opened and you continue to hear the voice of God.

DOMINION RESTORED

We must know the make-up of man

How did God created man

1. God is a Triune Being 1 Jn 5:7

God made man in His image (in Triune Being). 1Thes 5:23. Man is a spirit, possesses a soul and lives in a body.

Man is a spirit being, when you give your life to Christ, you are born of God. Jn 3:6. Recreation of our spirit.

These three parts are distinct in their functions. Each of your parts has distinct functions for your dominion. They are interrelated.

Spirit is the real man.

Spirit is the part that contains the spirit life. (When God breathe the breathe of life).

It is with the spirit that we contact God. Spirit contacts the realm of spirit. Jn 4: 24.

The spirit expresses itself through the soul and body. Without the spirit the other two - soul and body cannot function.

In the scripture, the regenerated spirit is referred to various ways.

(a) 2cor 4:16. It is also called inward man.

(b) 1pet 3:14. Hidden man of the heart.

(c) Eph 4:24 A new man.

Spirit in the central control system or the engine and it is capable of growth. Our goal is to build a strong spirit of full of growth, stamina, faith, wisdom, knowledge and power.

Spirit exhibits qualities enlisted in Gal 5:22. Love, joy, peace, patience, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, self control, faith etc. Spirit can be poisoned and defiled when you engage in critics, bitterness, hatred, un-forgiveness, hardness, self righteousness, hardness, self righteousness, jealousy, pride etc.

Destroying sins

You need Holy spirit to maximize our spirit. You walk and live in spirit is to develop sensitivity with Holy Spirit.

1. STUDY: - 2 Tim 2:15 studying all the words. How?

(a) You can embrace in topical study e.g. DIVINE HEALING, PROSPERITY etc.

2. MEDITATION: - Josh 1:8 meditates day and night. God expects us to spend most of our time on meditation. Meditation is subjecting spiritual truth into practicality and to profiting. It is the process of that result in profiting.

Subjecting - visualization, reflection, absorption, assimilation

Profiting- light ps 119:130, good success josh 1:8

3. PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT:- Jude 20…. building up yourselves in the most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.

It comprises of three parts - mind, emotion and will.

Rom 12:2. Renew your mind. Renewal of the mind makes our mind to cooperate with the spirit. Level of mental renewal would determine the level of glory, honour, victory a man enjoys. Prov 23:7. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. The mind performs the following.

Reasoning

Imagination

Memory

Creativity.

What you imagine is what you create. What you see is what you get. Positive thinking is a habit. Through mind, you contact the realm of intellect. Through spirit is what light shines into the mind.

This is the realm of feeling- sorrow, happiness, love

Emotion is to be subjected to the word of God. How?

Your mind is important in handling your emotion. Col 3:1-2. Set your affection - emotion on the word. Be spiritually minded

Your mind is to be exercised over your emotion. Col 3:5. - Mortify - subdue. Your word should rule, not the emotion. God has a given us emotion for our blessings not our destruction.

The will is the power of choice. Deut 30:19.’Choose....’ you had been created by the power of choice. Your choice has consequences. What you have today is the choice you made yesterday. The consequences follow. Your will is to keep your emotion on the Word of God so that the contrary will not be enforced.

Isa 14:12-15. "I Will …." Exercising the will negatively. I will not forgive them, I will exalt myself etc …

Lk 15:17, 18 I will arise (and correct my mistakes…). That is exercising the WILL positively for maximum productivity.

By you determine you made on WILL, you set your spirit on fire and ready for victory.

Obstruction

(a) A stubborn will, hardened will

(b) A confused mind

(c) An undisciplined emotion.

This Obstruction can be taken care of by:

Fact is not an enemy of faith. Faith communes God but information communes faith. The foundation is the information.

Rubbing mind with God

Body is an indwelling place for the spirit and soul 1cor 3:16, 19. Body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is your body that contacts the physical realm. Your senses (5 senses) that contact the physical realm.

Sight - Eye

Touch - Hand

Taste - Tongue

Hearing - Tongue

Smelling - Nose

Re - Educate your senses to appreciate, adapt and adopt to kingdom demand (new standard, new demand)

Mk 4:24, Prov 4:24. What you hear affect what you see. "Faith cometh by hearing…" Rom 10:17. Educate them with your Word. The word that would increase the faith. Guard seriously what you hear.

Our hands should be working hands. Nothing works until you work it out. Pr 12:24,

Ecll 9:10.

Tongue has to do with the speech. You have to re- educate your language Prov 18:21. Careless talking must be put aside. What you say is a seed that would germinate and bring out after their kinds.

Jn 1:12. The son ship came with power. What do you do with power?

You use power to dominate sin

You use power to dominate sickness

Power concern with service and for impact

It affect your generation

Power is to attain your destiny

Power is to raise the death.

Wisdom. Is 33:6. Gives salvation

Knowledge. Dan 11:32. Use for exploit.

Understanding. Pr 17:27.

Bold Speaking/confidence. Declaring your stand.

1 Jn 5:19. Magnetic field of wickedness.

1 Jn 5:4. You are born of God. You have destined to overcome the magnetic field of wickedness.

New Birth:- You set out from ordinary to extra ordinary

Carrying the consciousness of this nature.

Jn 5:5-8. "The mind bloweth….. You carrying the word and exercise until you feel the supernatural. You speak out your victory.

Stir up the gift of eternal life inside you. You bad been loaded with word inside you that will ignite the fire inside you. What you have inside you will come out through knowledge. ‘’I am too loaded to WIN’’.
